For the Blue Outfit I wanted to do a halter top design because I wanted to make something different. I made this as a single piece, so the entire outfit was made in stages instead of all at once. Because of the separate processes, the design changed as more pieces were added on. I wanted a skirt that would fit the overall look. Eventually, I came up with a Roman style skirt with a 6 in 1 belt. The pauldrons finish the outfit.
The Red Outfit
This outfit was Inspired by the triangle shape. I wanted to Incorporate the triangle and v shapes throughout the entire outfit. The weave I picked is Half Persian because it lays flat and it looks good as a two tone design. The belt is GSG because the Half Persian was too thin of a weave to show well.
This Red Outfit took me 2 weeks to make and took thousands of small scales and hundreds of large scales.
Fluted Tasset and Pauldron with a 6 in 1 belt or leather belt
I enjoy making chainmail and I’m well known for my chainmail work, however, I have a degree in metalsmithing and know many sheet metal techniques. I wanted to make some accessories that showcase some of my plate work.
Chain Mail Skirt
Leather loop belt
Fluted Aluminum Pauldron
Silver Top with Wrap
This was the first outfit design I made using scale mail. The reason for making this outfit was, while I was doing art festivals people kept joking that I should make a bikini. Since I was going to take the time to make one and it being a show piece in my booth, I wanted to also show off my talent as an artist. I added spiral chains, a scale mail necklace, and circle details to the outfit. In the end, this outfit became more than just a standard Bikini top. It remains one of the most popular of my designs.
Single Shoulder Top with skirt
The single shoulder outfit was specifically made for a fashion show. For the show I wanted to do something to highlight the beauty of the scale mail and have a modern look.
